March to October is the peak season, during which the zoo opens at 9 am and closes at 6 pm. During the lean season, i.e., November to February, the zoo opens at 9 am but closes an hour early at 5 pm. The last entry can be made half an hour before the closing time.
Micropia in the zoo has different timings. It opens at 11 am and closes at 5 pm every day, regardless of the season.

The Amsterdam Zoo is located at Plantage Kerklaan 38 40, 1018 CZ, Amsterdam. One can take public or private transportation to reach the Artis Amsterdam Royal Zoo. Public transport is recommended, specifically during peak seasons and holidays.
Tram is the best way to visit Artis Royal Zoo. Trams 7, 14, and 19 are the best ones. Tram 14 starts from Amsterdam Central Station and stops at the Artis Royal Zoo. Tram 7 and 19 stops are about 5-7 minutes away from Artis Zoo.
For those who prefer to travel by metro, Waterlooplein is the nearest metro station.
