1. All You Need to Know About Rome, Italy

The city of Rome is situated on the banks of the river Tiber. Its existence dates back to around 700 BC.

The city of Rome used to be the capital of the Roman Empire. Ancient mythology and the culture of Rome are well-known around the world.

The city also has rich artistry visible in its landmarks.

 2. Famous Landmarks in Rome

Ancient Roman landmarks certainly are the highlight of the trip. Ancient monuments and landmarks date back to the Roman era. Roman landmarks have preserved Roman history for years.

From Ancient Appian to the Spanish Steps, landmarks in Rome are just stunning.

The capital of Italy houses a list of iconic landmarks that cannot be completed in one visit. I have taken the task and prepared a list of the topmost places that you can visit when in Rome for the first time.

2.1. Colosseum

The Colosseum is situated on Palatine Hill and is a popular tourist attraction in Rome. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

It is an important historical site to visit in Rome. For those who like history, this historical site is a must-visit. This landmark tells a lot about the ancient history of Rome.

The landmark was previously the venue for magic shows, gladiator fights, chariot races, and more during Roman times. This ancient site dates back to 70AD.

The Colosseum was also featured in the famous Hollywood film Gladiator.

This monument speaks to lengths about Roman Mythology. For those interested in Roman mythology and history, this landmark is a treasure. It is indeed a must-visit during the visit to Rome.

The famous fountain Trevi Fountain (also known as Fontana di Trevi) is also located a mile from Pantheon. The movie Roman Holiday featured the Trevi fountain.
