Europe is on almost everyone’s bucket list. The places in Europe are mindblowing and attract many tourists every year. But most of these places require a lot of financial stability to visit. This is the reason many people back off from their plan to visit Europe every now and then.

1. Kraków, Poland2. Český Krumlov, Czech Republic3. Porto, Portugal4. Athens, Greece5. Valletta, Malta6. Bologna, Italy7. Belgrade, Serbia8. Final Note

But we have a solution to this problem. Certain places in Europe are cheap and will not break your bank. These places are picturesque and will surely blow your mind. They have both historic and cultural significance.

1. Kraków, Poland

Krakow is the second-largest city in Poland and one of the most budget-friendly cities in Europe. Numerous inexpensive hostels are located here, making it one of the most inexpensive cities to stay in.

The biggest medieval square in Europe is the city’s Main Market Square, also known as “Rynek Główny.” The city also hosts the Wawel Castle, a castle and cathedral constructed in the Baroque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Romanesque styles.

2. Český Krumlov, Czech Republic

Český Krumlov, Czech Republic, which belongs to the Bohemia region, is one of the cheapest cities in Europe to visit. It is close to the south of Prague. It is popular for its vivid architecture and perfectly preserved Old Town.

Český Krumlov is located on a river that offers breathtaking panoramas of Baroque and Renaissance styles of architecture. A castle above the center of the town presents grand views with every glance. You can simply sit outside on a café or restaurant terrace with breathtaking views of all the above.

3. Porto, Portugal

Porto is a popular city along the coast of Portugal. It is the cheapest destination in Western Europe. Porto is one of the most interesting and life-full European cities you should visit. It offers the cheapest options for travelers on a budget.

Porto is the starting point for the Douro Valley, a world wine-producing region of the first class. Porto Cathedral was built in the Romanesque style, which started in the 12th century. From the terrace of this church, you will be able to witness breathtaking views of the old town.

4. Athens, Greece

Athens is one of the world’s oldest cities, boasting many temples, statues, and monuments of history. It is also one of the most affordable places to fly to and visit in Europe.

Athens’s iconic landmarks include the Acropolis, the Temple of Zeus, and the Agora. The Acropolis, an ancient citadel on a hill, is home to some of the most significant historical sites, including the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nik, and the Erechtheion. The city is equally proud of the Panathinaiko Stadium, the main venue for the 1896 and 2004 Olympic Games.

Athens can boast of being budget-friendly if you settle for cheap accommodation.

5. Valletta, Malta

Valletta is a chest full of hidden treasures that reflect its cultural and historical aspects.

The town is surrounded by 16th-century walls. Although it is one of the best cheap holiday destinations in Europe, unlike most other European countries, there are few tourists except during the peak summer season.

You can indulge in the gorgeous Baroque architecture and get acquainted with Maltese cuisine. Furthermore, you may take a few day trips to the nearby fishing villages and historical places.

6. Bologna, Italy

Sitting between Italy’s two most famous cities, Florence and Venice, Bologna is the unsung hero of the Italian Renaissance.

It has become famous for its Renaissance-inspired architecture, lively pizzas, and hectic old-world character. Europe is also rightfully proud of its oldest university, namely, the University of Bologna. Bologna also boasts the world’s most famous leaning, the Asinelli Tower. The city has served as a musical source of inspiration internationally and where greats like Andrea Mingardi, Francesco Guccini, and Cesare Cremonini used to play.

7. Belgrade, Serbia

Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, is known to be a great option for those seeking to travel on a budget around Europe. The outstanding feature of this city is its rich history and amazing nightlife. Having entertainment round the clock is a plus point. Belgrade’s most notable feature is its position at the Sava and Danube rivers, which cross each other. Water not only introduces the splendid view of the riverside but also provides a variety of water-based entertainment.

The town is not only about historical monuments and places from the past but also about amazing food and drinks. You’ll have plenty of choices, from cafes to traditional Serbian cuisine, at inexpensive prices. Belgrade is a place where the mix of cultures and history is most visible, as in the case of the Kalemegdan Fortress and St. Sava Temple, which are both wonderful scenic attractions.

8. Final Note

In short, Europe is a pocket-friendly destination. From natural beauty to man-made architecture, you will find everything in Europe. The cheapest places in Europe are full of experiences. You can enjoy different cuisines, vibe in the music, and enjoy the aesthetics of the city.

If you are looking for an in-budget trip with friends and family, you can visit these places in Europe. These cities can be easily strolled around on foot or public transport. Moreover, the great environment welcomes what has universally been coined the solo traveler syndrome!
