Panama, although a small country, is enormously diversified, as evidenced by the various amazing Panama festivals! Panama, an officially Roman Catholic country, has a long history of ecclesiastical and ethnological harmony, with huge groups from all over the world, including Japan, Vietnam, Egypt, Greece, Nepal, Bogota, and Brazil, to mention a few.

There are several examples of Panama’s profound Spanish heritage across the country. The Azuero promontory, dubbed the “cornerstone of legend,” is possibly the most widely known.

There is no better location for big national events and festivals. Residents and visitors alike throng during the Festive season. Dancers here wear anything from bright carnival attire to the serene white pollera. Carnival, occurring four days before Catholic Lent, is the year’s most important celebration. (The dates vary from year to year, although it is generally held in February.)

1. 6 Best Panama Festivals to Go To

1.1. Panama Carnival

Panama, like several other countries throughout the world, particularly in Europe and Latin America, maintains a carnival culture. This tradition has its origins in Catholicism when leftover meals and drinks were devoured just before the beginning of the 4-week fasting immediately before Easter.

Although Panama’s carnivals aren’t as well-known as those in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro or Barranquilla, they’re nevertheless vibrant and full of excitement.

The Carnival Procession in Panama comprises artistically adorned floats (‘topones’) with bands of mostly trumpets and drums (‘tunas’), and the Carnival Queen, who is followed by her court. Between the floats, you’ll observe performers dressed in the most vivid costumes and musical performances dueling with the floats.

1.2. Festival de la Mejorana

People from around the country participate during the event, as it attempts to conserve Panamanian customs such as traditional clothing (the pollera) and traditional instruments (such as the Majorana, which also gives the festival its name).

1.4. Sobresaltos Dance Festival

Full Moon Drums is a celebration that places the enchantment of the drummers to take center stage. Its designers chose the above equipment to highlight the connection that melody and drumming share with the spirit and also to unify humans.

The festival serves as a gathering place at the start of the lunar eclipse of every quarter, as well as a participatory and intellectual festival in which various rhythmic patterns are made and in which kids, young folks, and individuals of all age groups can engage.

Its inventors say these “collective drumming” events foster a sense of belonging, identification, and affiliation.

1.6. Veraguas Fair

The Veraguas Fair is among the country’s biggest and most prestigious fairs. Its headquarters are in Soná, and its organization provides various services and amusement to each of its guests.

Wild and free in my imagination, I never really found a place big enough for me in my childhood to keep my thoughtful and detailed stories and viewpoints. Thus, my haven was my mind. Then I found a new place to give my ideas and thoughts a "real" place to stay. The words that I put on paper or type while using my keyboard are the gateways for self-expression. Writing gives my imagination a life that connects me with other innovators and imaginative minds. It is beautiful and efficient and overall, wholesome. Currently, I am pursuing BA Honours in English, with Economics and Sociology as General Elective subjects from Scottish Church College, University of Calcutta. The subject, that is English, mentally and emotionally involves me by stimulating me to do better, making me decide that I was developed for the role of a writer. The reason I love Literature and Sociology is because of the depths of the stories, characters and the potential for critical thinking. I understand various aspects of the social and psychological fabric of individuals. I was also a part of the PR team of my Literary club in college throughout my first year. My duty was to create Instagram posts and edit articles submitted by students after selecting them from numerous entries. I have been actively involved in various competitions that required mastery of Spoken English. Written English, creativity, critical thinking and quick thinking. With facts from history, an understanding of the present and creativity for the future, I look forward to creating. Similar factors apply to content writing. Firstly, researching the topic is an interesting way to boost one's knowledge. Then, critically thinking about the topic is not only mentally stimulating but also proper use of time. Last but not least, the whole process of presenting content is a result of carefully throughout ideas and facts. The end goal is to capture the attention of a vast audience through excellent presentation and expression of ideas through content.
