Nottingham was named the “Home of English Sports” in 2015. The Nottingham City Transport is a publicly owned bus network in England. It is also known for Nottingham Trent University, the National Justice Museum in Lace Market, and King Street.

But apart from all these, Nottingham’s beautiful and mesmerizing farms make for an attractive destination for small kids and their families who want to spend a day full of exploration, learning, enthusiasm, and enjoyment.

For example, the Stonebridge City Farm, Heeley City Farm, J and J Alpacas, Floralands Farm Park, White Post Farm, Whisby Animal Centre, Bluebell Dairy, and Matlock Farm Park are some widely known farms of Nottingham. Therefore, we will be reading about some of these farms in Nottingham that are fun and ideal for your little ones to have a day full of adventure.

1. Stonebridge City Farm

Despite the many farms in Nottingham, this farm tops the list. It was created in 1980 as an urban farm in St Ann’s Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. This farm offers facilities for hand ink, a barn, a farm shop, gardens, wild green space, farm animals, a cafe, toilets, and play areas for children and families.

This farm is a registered charity and runs on grants and donations. It organizes educational visits for children in the presence of efficient staff and volunteers. It offers beekeeping and gardening.

This farm has several orchards, greenhouses, formal gardens, and wild spaces. Freshly grown fruits and vegetables are used in the kitchens of the on-site cafes. Bees help as pollinators and honey harvesters. Stonebridge City Farm won bronze and gold medals in the RHS Nottingham in Bloom Competition and the outstanding award in the East Midlands in Bloom Finals in 2011.

Despite different sizes and varieties, this farm contains numerous animals. There are rescue animals like rare breed pigs, goats, cows, sheep, and donkeys. Animals like chickens, turkeys, geese, and ducks are kept separately for their eggs.

However, small animals like guinea pigs, rabbits, and exotic birds are present. Shrubs and bushes attract wild birds. Children can explore and learn about farm life here.

However, the milk used for making artisan ice creams comes from their cows. As a result, there are a total of 25 delicious flavors of ice cream like cookies & cream, banoffee pie, devilishly chocolate, double cream vanilla, strawberries & cream, amaretto & black cherry, honeycomb crunch, chocolate hazelnut, pear & elderflower sorbet, and many more.

Blueberry’s outdoor play park offers tractor & trailer rides, a maize maze, water wars, pedal go-karts, a massive bouncy pillow, a cow-to-cone play area, sheep racing, splat cannons, animal cuddles, and animal shows. Dogs are also welcome here.

Indoor play includes role-play village, bale mountain, corn pit, and pedal tractors. Pre-booking is advised to save money.
