Due to its mild weather, Europe has become a popular tourist destination. This justifies the huge crowds that flock to this magnificent continent most of the year. Apart from providing the perfect temperature to explore the places, these countries also have many tourist attractions.

1. Warmest Countries in Europe

The Mediterranean Sea is deeply responsible for showering warmer climates in most European countries, resulting in warm and pleasant temperatures.

1.1. Cyprus

Cyprus is considered one of the hottest places in Europe. According to mythological tales, the birthplace of Aphrodite is Cyprus. Aphrodite is a Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty.

Rain and cloudy weather are rare in Cyprus, and sunshine is present on most days of the year. The country boasts lengthy summers and short, mild winters, and the average temperature is between 16 and 19 degrees Celsius.

This holiday destination is perfect for adventure freaks, as there are plenty of outdoor activities. People interested in caves and cliffs will also love this place. The dance of Flamingos at Larnaka is one of the most distinct attractions of this place.

Historical spots like The Kings’s Tombs are perfect for people who love ancient architecture. The spectacular tombs are made up of solid rocks and belong to the Roman period. The dimensions and richness of the tombs make it worth a visit.

1.2. Spain

Due to its southern location, Spain is known as one of the hottest countries in Europe. It rarely rains, so Spain has many days of bright sunshine. There are some popular destinations in Spain that you should visit to enjoy the sun to the fullest.

Marbella is a very popular Spanish destination. It is a resort area and city in the southern part of Spain. Beach loungers and yacht owners have their businesses there.

Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca are other famous beach locations. The stunning beaches comprising white sand and attractive water sports make people flock around these beaches. The Canary Islands, with their subtropical climate, are worth a visit for people who love dunes and hidden caves.

Another beautiful place to visit is La Graciosa, a tiny island about 2 km north of Lanzarote. It is an awesome holiday destination for a quick escape from stress.

1.3. Portugal

Portugal borders the Atlantic Ocean. Most of its cities have a delightful climate all year round, including the capital city of Lisbon, which has a Mediterranean climate, perfect for exploring historical sites and archaeological sites.

The richness of the Portuguese island of Madeira is witnessed through its crystal clear sea waters and magnificent landscapes. The sandy beaches with ample sunshine are ideal for an evening stroll. One cannot afford to miss the lip-smacking Madeira wine accompanied by fresh seafood.

The southern region of the Algarve is the ideal Portuguese city for a winter trip. The summers are hot, accompanied by mild winters. Faro is one of the hottest places in the Algarve, receiving about 10 hours of sunshine daily. The town can contribute greatly to any vitamin D deficiency.

1.4 Italy

The weather in Italy varies greatly, similar to that in France. While the North experiences cold winter weather, the South typically has different weather.

The coastal areas like Tuscany and Lazio provide the perfect climate for exploring the amazing beaches.

The Amalfi Coast is a good option for escaping the winter blues. Moreover, one can explore the dramatic landscapes of bright blue water and jagged cliffs.

People who prefer low crowds can explore Venice, one of Italy’s most visited cities with a bearable winter climate. It is also known as the ‘City of Canals’ or ‘The Floating City’. It is famous for its beautiful bridges, winding canals and striking architecture.

1.5. Greece

Greece is the best winter sun destination for island hoppers, history freaks, and beachgoers. It is among the few countries with good sunshine, culture and beauty.

To escape the winter blues, opt for warmer southern islands like Crete, the biggest Greek island. The temperature is generally moderate, enough to spend a lazy afternoon on the beach. Crete has a rich landscape, including stunning beaches, rugged mountains and diverse landscapes.

Islands like Santorini and Mykonos are excellent choices for seasonal tourists due to their low costs. Santorini is known as a romantic island, while Mykonos is famous as a party spot. You can choose according to your preference, but both are very appealing.

1.6. Malta

Malta is an island country in the southern part of Europe. Its real beauty lies in its ancient architecture, which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea.

Malta can be classified as the warmest place in Europe due to its reliable climate. The island gets at least 5 hours of sunshine during winter, and sunny days rise annually. The sunny weather provides the perfect conditions for strolling around this beautiful place.

St.Elmo, a Star Fort located in Valletta, is worth watching. It is one of the most distinct historical buildings in Malta. It had several military benefits during the ancient times.

The Gozo island is another beautiful place to head over to. This place’s amazing natural beauty and architecture will blow your mind away.

1.7. France

When thinking of France, it can never happen that you are not thinking of Paris. It is the most popular city for visitors in the world. However, avoiding the capital city during winter is best, as it can get frigid.

The South of France welcomes everyone with stunning beaches, making it ideal for a summer holiday trip. The pocket-friendly prices accompanied by smaller crowds are a bonus.

When in France, do not forget to check out the food joints. The country offers mouthwatering delicacies from all over the world.

1.8. Croatia

Croatia’s Adriatic coast is popular for its beautiful warm weather. The coastal areas benefit from the Mediterranean Sea and offer plenty of sunshine.

The summers here are really hot with mild and wet winters. Daily, six hours of sunshine are experienced, enough for a dip in the warm, clear waters of the beaches.

Places to Visit in Croatia –

One of Croatia’s remarkable places is Split, an incredibly enclosed city on the Adriatic Sea. The marvellous Diocletian palace, named after the Roman Emperor who built it, is worth watching.

Avoid the winter season in Croatia as it can get fairly chilly at that time, and sometimes, the winter temperatures might dip to as low as – 30 C.

2. Tips to Consider While Travelling to Europe

2.1. Stock up on Sweaters and Hoodies

Although the weather is pleasant in Europe, carrying your winter coat, sweater, and hoodie is never bad. During the day, the day weather will be mild, but you might experience cooler weather at night.

2.2. Advance Bookings

Booking your hotel rooms in advance, even during the off-season, is always wise. You might even get great offers and packages. It will also help you avoid inconvenience and disappointment.

2.3. Travel Insurance

Always insist on buying travel insurance irrespective of its compulsion. It just puts you at the least risk. Also, a first aid kit and medicines should be a part of your packing, especially if you have kids.

Europe is the best destination if you are ready for an adventurous trip and want to ditch the winter blues. The continent offers many things, including amazing natural views and modern architecture.

Warm European countries are the best places for a beach vacation. Plan a trip with your friends and family, and prepare to soak some vitamin D.
